SS Johl– Padam Bhushan Awardee
Manpreet needs to be commended for bringing people’s attention to two vital issues facing Punjab i.e. deteriorating finances and decline in agriculture. It was heartening to see him taking up issues with the centre to improve agriculture in Punjab. I fully endorse his views that subsidies should reach where they are meant to and should not be wastefully spent.
Ajit Pal Singh– Olympic Medal Winner, Former Captain Indian Hockey Team, Arjuna Award Winner
There are no opportunities for youngsters in today’s Punjab. Our education system is defunct. Our once glorious record in sports is shambles. Manpreet’s past record shows that he is honest, sincere and feels great pride in being a Punjabi. He has also stayed away from petty politics. He deserves a chance and I extend my support to him.
Brigadier (Retired) Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri– War Hero, Mahavir Chakra Awardee
Manpreet has shown the courage that Punjab so desperately needs today. We the people of Punjab have always been at the forefront to defend India whenever any foreign attacker has invaded us. It is a pity that today, whereas rest of India is progressing, our state is mired in corruption, casteism, intolerance, profligacy and nepotism. It is time, we get back our honour and for that we should support Manpreet’s movement.
S. Fauja Singh, Centenarian Marathon Runner, Wolrd Record Holder
Expressing concern over the “deteriorating law and order situation” and referring to the incidents of “snatchings”, Fauja Singh said that he was impressed with the ideology of PPP. He said that he deeply felt that people should choose PPP to improve the state-of-affairs in Punjab. PPP is the first party that gave a call for “safeguarding the interests of the state”. God had given a chance to the people to elect a good government.
